Heat-Safe is a remote
sensing device that will supplement the current gauge found on the
majority of home heating oil tanks and provide oil retailers with
notification of low-oil, and low-temperature alarms.
This
major breakthrough in the supply chain for home heating oil will enable
retailers to significantly decrease their cost of delivering oil by
essentially eliminating the:
• Time involved in estimating consumption;
• Errors in “degree-day” estimation; and
• Risk of “out-of-oil” and
“freeze-up” liabilities.
The
market for the Heat-Safe will be truly global. While oil heat use in
America is limited to New England and Mid-Atlantic states, it
is the primary heating source for over 8.1 million
households in the United States alone. 78% of those homes are in the
Northeastern United States, immediately accessible to sales efforts of
the Consumer Energy Research Corporation.
CERC
has partnered with several leaders in the retail heating oil, engineering design,
and manufacturing
industries to bring the Heat-Safe
to market. The anticipated release date is currently in the first
quarter of 2007.
